With four Grammy Awards, two Oscars for Best Original Score, three Golden Globes, and a Brit Award, Hans Zimmer is one of the most influential contemporary composers, and his scores are among the most beloved in film history. After the success of Rain Man, which earned Hans Zimmer his first Oscar nomination, all of Hollywood's biggest directors lined up to work with him. His music so impressed Disney that they commissioned him to compose the score for the animated film The Lion King: the animated film's main theme earned the composer three of the most prestigious awards: the Oscar, the Golden Globe, and the Grammy.
